Gas prices in Chicago have climbed to $4.321 per gallon this week, according to the latest data from the U.S. Energy Information Administration (EIA). This is 1.84% higher than last week’s average of $4.243, reflecting a steady increase in fuel costs.
The current price is also 3.95% higher than the national average of $4.157, underscoring the higher fuel expenses faced by Chicago residents. Diesel prices, too, have seen an uptick, with the national average now at $5.967 per gallon.
Chicago stands among the more expensive areas in the country for fuel. While California remains the priciest state with an average of $5.678 per gallon, Texas offers the cheapest rates at $3.618. This disparity highlights the regional variations in fuel pricing across the United States.
