The Robert Crown Community Center buzzed with energy on a recent Saturday as the fourth annual Evanston Family Fun Fest brought together families from all corners of the city. Organized by Be Strong Families in collaboration with the Evanston Parks and Recreation Department and Evanston Cradle to Career this year’s event was themed “Sweet Summer Send-Off,” marking the transition back to school with a day of fun and support.
The festive atmosphere was a tribute to Dr. Marjorie Fujara a local pediatrician renowned for her advocacy of trauma-informed care. Dr. Fujara’s legacy was celebrated through various activities and a special proclamation by Mayor Daniel Biss who declared the day “Evanston is Family Strong! Day.”
